Arles

Frank Gehry planted a tower of ten thousand steel panels in the middle of former railway workshops, and no one leaves indifferent — you love it or you loathe it, rarely anything between. Around it, the brick halls of the Parc des Ateliers host contemporary art exhibitions, and eleven hectares of park have grown where there was only track ballast. Allow half a day to see it all.

A place we love to recommend to our guests during their stay at Mas de l'Herne, in Eygalières.

Address
Parc des Ateliers, 35 avenue Victor Hugo, 13200 Arles
Hours
Daily, 10am–7:30pm

The Tower, its panoramic terraces, its slides and the landscaped park are free to enter. You can go up for the view over the Alpilles, come back down the big slide and leave without paying a thing: only the exhibitions are ticketed.
